The decomposed body of an IIT Kharagpur student was found in his hostel room on October 14. The student has been identified as 23-year-old Faizan Ahmed. A resident of Assam’s Tinsukia, Faizan, was a third year student of the Mechanical Engineering Department of IIT Kharagpur.
The family has alleged that Faizan was harassed and ragged, following which he died by suicide. His complaints to the authorities were brushed aside by the institution, the family further claimed.
